It’s been some time since I participated in Saturday Spankings. I’ve been going through a bit of a rough patch with my writing over the last few months. However, I will have a new novella coming out soon from Blushing Books. Playing With Fire was actually my first published work. It was originally published as a serial on the Bethany’s Woodshed website, but it will soon be coming to market as an e-book.
Summary:
Stacy Reinhardt is a 22-year-old small town girl–the quintessential rebel. She loves to party and is a serial dater. Most of her relationships, if they can be called that, are one night stands or casual flings. No commitment; no strings. She meets Sheriff’s Deputy Cade Dawson in a bar and is immediately intrigued by him, but Cade wants nothing to do with her. He’s attracted to her, but knows she’s the type of woman he doesn’t need. She’s a flirt and a partier used to a string of one night stands, and he’s an old-fashioned man with old-fashioned ideas. He believes in respecting and protecting women. He demands loyalty and faithfulness, and he spanks. As a joke, he dares Stacy to try dating only one man for a month. She accepts and chooses him.
Much to both their surprise, they quickly find their ‘joke’ relationship turning into more. Cade makes no bones about the fact that he believes in protecting women and in old-fashioned values and won’t hesitate to enforce his expectations by way of a sound spanking if necessary. At first, Stacy dismisses this as an occasional thing and no big deal, but then her old ways begin to resurface, and she suddenly comes face-to-face with the fact that Cade’s expectations and methods are very real. He will hold her accountable and spank her, and he honestly expects her to change her behavior.
Will the wild child be able to change her ways for an old-fashioned spanking man, or will her rebel spirit and the pressure and rumors of a small town tear them apart?
In the following excerpt, Cade has just spotted Stacy in a bar and mistakenly thinks she is underage.
Excerpt:
Then she rubbed against him like a cat and laid her hands on his chest and the heat simmering in his blood shot through the roof. Goddamnit, she was flirting with him. He clamped down hard on the tremendously appealing urge to yank her up and turn her over his knee like the child she was. Instead, he plucked her hands away with deliberate coolness and said again, “Go home, kid.”
“Hey now, don’t be like that,” Stacy purred, pulling out her best seductive pout. “All I want to do is have a little fun.” She leaned closer and dropped her voice down to a husky whisper, “and believe me, I can be a lot of fun.”

Glad to have you back, Ruth! I hope you’re through the rough patch now:)
BTW — I love the tag line for your website here!
Both cute and sexy.
She is very much in need of a good dose of discipline.
She gets it…eventually.
Fun little snippet.
Ooh – she rubbed up against him like a cat … nice …
and I have a feeling it won’t be the last time he gets that “urge”:)
Oh, I like this. I can see that she could benefit from spanking. LOL. Like the story premise too.
Ooh, I really like the premise of this story!
And based on this excerpt, she could definitely use some good old fashioned attention!
Great job!
Love rebel, wild child girls and this premise is super tempting! Rubbing against him like a cat – perfect.
I have a feeling little Stacy is playing with fire, but doesn’t realize it, yet. Cade isn’t particularly fond of flirts, and he believes Stacy is underage in a bar. I think he’s showing remarkable restraint, though before he does anything, he probably should ask her age, then demand she prove she’s telling him the truth, because I suspect he won’t believe her at first. Great snippet, and congrats on the new release.
what a wonderful, sexy moment 🙂 I love imaging where this goes. Congrats on this coming out as an ebook
What a great premise. Love the snippet!
