sunday spotlight

I’ve been taking a break from Sunday Spotlight for a bit.  Real life, unfortunately, has gotten a bit crazy of late.   Fortunately, it looks like things are starting to slow down so the Sunday Spotlight is back. Today, I am shining the spotlight on Corinne Alexander’s new Corbin’s Bend book, Melissa’s Saving Grace.  I have to say I really enjoyed Melissa’s story. There is a lot about Melissa I relate to. It also answered a question for me that’s been lingering in my mind for a while. Knowing that DD and age play sometimes go hand-in-hand, I have wondered if there were any couples in Corbin’s Bend who practiced elements of both. Apparently, the enter to that question is yes. That being said, the age play doesn’t play particularly heavily into most of the story. However, if you don’t like age play elements, you should be forewarned that they are present, albeit slightly, in this story.

Melissa Toselli is a wild child with a troubled past. Having been on her own since she was fifteen she is desperate to find the one who will take her into his arms, heart, and control. She has a tendency to pick all the wrong men for all the wrong reasons.

Unbeknownst to Melissa she has caught Corbin’s Bend newbie, Jason Donovan’s, attention. The wild spitfire stirred something inside of him that he could not let go. He could see right through Melissa’s devil may care attitude to the vulnerable child within who just needed someone to care for and watch out for her. She was crying out for some guidance; both the kind that would tuck her in at night and the kind that would take her over a knee for some much needed discipline and structure.

Can Jason give Melissa what she needs and tame the wild child that she is? Can he show her the way a true gentleman treats the woman he has feelings for? Will Melissa turn out to be too much for Jason to handle? Will she fall back into her old ways? Or will Jason and Melissa find exactly what they’re looking for in each other?

As Jason pulled her up into his lap, Melissa climbed up, curling into his chest like it was the most natural thing in the world to her. He knew then that he would do anything to make her his girl. They cuddled like that in silence for a few minutes. He kissed the top of her head, breathing in the sweet smell of her hair.

“I’m sorry that you had to rescue me tonight, Jason,” she whispered up to him before burying her face in his chest and hiding her eyes.

He brushed her hair back and tilted her chin up so that she had to look him in the eyes. “You scared me to death tonight, and I’m sorry you were in the position you were in, but I’m not sorry I had to rescue you.” A mixture of hope and disbelief flitted across her face. He responded by laying a small kiss on the tip of her nose causing her to giggle and bury it into his neck.

“Now let’s get you tucked into bed.” With a deep chuckle and careful to keep her tightly tucked into his arms, Jason stood and headed down the hall to where she had retrieved the hairbrush. Entering her room, he turned on the bedside table lamp before tucking Melissa snugly in bed. “Wait here just a minute. I will be right back.”

Not quite two minutes later he was back in the bedroom with a warm mug of milk and honey along with a tube of arnica lotion. Melissa lay propped up against the headboard. He tried not to pay attention to the implications of her robe draped over a chair in the corner. “What’s this?” she asked, giving the mug a puzzled look.

“Try it and see,” he directed. She took a small sip and smiled.

“Mmm, it’s milk and honey isn’t it?”

He nodded. “It will help you to sleep.” He waited until she had several more sips,

watching as Melissa relaxed into the pillows. He took the mug from her and set it on the table. “I have some cream that will help your bottom feel better and heal properly so that you can have a better night’s sleep.” Showing her the tube from the small duffel bag he’d brought into the house with his change of clothes. “Roll over and lift your nightgown,” he directed.

She moved to comply, hissing when her bottom rubbed against the sheet. Once Melissa was snuggled down on the pillow, stomach down, Jason squeezed a small amount of the lotion into his palm. He waited, warming the lotion before spreading it onto her bottom which was emanating a nice heat. She sucked in between clenched teeth at his touch which turned into a moan as he spread the cream into every crevice. Adding a little more lotion to his palm, he massaged her bottom, the top of her legs, and finally made his way to her lower back. It felt so nice to be touching her like this. Before he realized it, the rhythm of her breath had changed to soft little snores. He pulled the comforter up and tucking her in snugly, he kissed her on the cheek and whispered, “Goodnight, Melissa.”

She stirred slightly, smiled sleepily, and with her eyes closed, whispered back,

“Goodnight, Jason.”
